Under 16's 06/07
Pictured above is the Saints Under 16 squad. The lads opened the new season with a disappointing 4-2 home defeat against Dunvant. In torrid conditions, it was difficult for either team to play anything like attractive football. Saints contributed to their own downfall by making four basic errors, each one punished by the enterprising Dunvant forwards. Saints did recover briefly when 2-0 down when Sam Carlsen's right wing corner, helped by the strong wind, found it's way into the Dunvant net. Saints pressed the self destruct button again though and Dunvant re established the two goal advantage, New signing Josh Lewis then marked his arrival with a superb goal from twenty yards, giving the Dunvant keeper no chance.

Stats...The side is going through a very difficult patch at the moment. Results to date are simply not going our way. The lads lost to Port Tennant at Pentrehafod two weeks ago, 1-0. If this had been a boxing bout, it would have been stopped. The Saints absolutely battered Them, but could not find the net and were victims of the classic sucker punch, six minutes from time. Against Treboeth, Oct 21st, despite harsh wind s Saints put up more than a decent display and could consider themselves unlucky at reaching the interval two goals down. With the re start and the wind at their backs, the lads were expected to rally and win, but again could not find that killer touch in front of goal. Treboeth snatched a third early in the second half and despite a spirited final fifteen minutes from Saints, the score remained Treboeth 3, Saints 0. |
