Under Nine. Match Reports

24th Sept, 2006

V Garden Village 2-1(w)

Saints started the first half the better and raced into a two goal lead through Scott Coughlan and Jamie Sturgess. Village did manage to pull a goal back with a great strike from Kalvin Davies. The second half saw Village play the better football but could not score against a resolute Saints defence.

V Morriston Town 3-2 (w)

Saints went 1 up through Kurtis Rees but Morriston came back to equalize. Again Saints went in front through Jamie Hayward and again Morriston came back to equalize. A good move from a Saints corner resulted in Morgan Lucas heading in to give the saints a win.

V Birchgrove 4-0 (w)

Scott Coughlan and Kurtis Rees put saints 2-0 up against Birchgrove in the fist half. Birchgrove tried to get back into the match but good defending from James Thomas saw them fail to score. Jamie Hayward and Coughlan scoring his second completed the scoring.

1st Oct, 2006

V Dunvant 3xs 0-2 (L)
This was a good end to end game with both teams playing good football. Dunvant went on to win the game by scoring from two corners in each half. Saints piled forward but the Dunvant defence held out to keep a clean sheet.

V Bonymaen Colts 0-2 (L)
Bony went 1-0 up early but Saints pulled back through Jake Bereton. Again Bony took the lead and again Saints leveled through a Josh Finselbach scorcher . As saints went in search of a winner Bony broke clear to snatch a late victory.

V Morriston 1-0 (w)
This game was played excellently in difficult conditions. Both teams had several chances throughout the game. Eventually the deadlock was broken by Keenan Collins to gain an excellent win.

Saints Greens v Ragged School

Ragged dominated this from the start but couldn't find the net due to excellent defending from James Osbourne and Peter Paton. Ragged scored two in the second half to win the game.

Saints Greens v Gowerton

Saints started the stronger scoring through Keenan Collins. Gowerton then scored two quick goals to take the lead. In the second half saints tried desperately to score the equaliser but it was Gowerton who scored to finish off the match.

Saints Greens V Garden Village

Saints started the game very well and had numerous chances to take the lead with Josh Finselbach hitting the woodwork 3 times. The second half was completely different with Village dominating and running out comfortable 3-0 winners.

Saints Greens V Dunvant&3X'S

Saints were denied an early goal when Ashleigh Polson hit the crossbar. Josh Finselbach and Keenan Collins then missed chances in the second half to take the lead but it was Dunvant who scored twice on the break to win 2-0

Saints Greens V Morriston Town

This was an excellent match with both teams passing the ball well. Morriston took the lead with a well taken goal. Saints rallied in the second half and scored the equaliser through Keenan Collins. Collins was a constant thorn in morriston's side and he popped up with the winner with a fine strike. Saints held on for a good 2-1 win.

Saints Greens v Treboeth Blues
This was an entertaining game with Blues taking the lead. Saints came back into the game in the second half and equalised through a brilliant strike from Leighton Brown
Saints Greens v Landore B
Landore took an early lead in this physical contest. Several chances were missed by both teams. The second half was the same although the saints hit the post and missing the rebounds
Saints Greens v Cwm Albion
Josh Finselbach started this game well and hit the post twice before scoring a screamer. Cwm equalised early in the second half only to see Jake Bereton score saints' second goal. Cwm piled forward and they equalised in the last minute with a good goal.

Saints Greens v Landore A
Landore were the brighter of the two teams and opened the scoring with two well taken goals. Saints then came to life and missed a couple of chances to get back in the game. In the second half landore scored to extend their lead to four nil.
Saints Greens v Ragged School
Saints started well but failed to take the lead when they missed several chances. Ragged took lead when they broke from a Saints atttack. The second half was pretty much the same as the first and ragged extended their lead for a two nil win.
Saints Greens v Birchgrove
This was a cracking game with both teams passing well. Both teams had several chances but neither could convert and the game finished as an entertaining 0-0 draw.

24th Sept, 2006

V West End 3-2 (w)
Josh Finselbach put Saints 1up but West End soon equalized. Again Saints scored but West End scored to level the match. Ashley Polson scored to win a good game between two good sides.

V Cwm Albion 1-0 (w)
Josh Finselbach scored the only goal in a very competitive match. The second half was very close with both teams having chances.

V Mumbles Albion 2-1(l)
Mumbles went into a 2 nil first half lead. Josh Finselbach pulled one back for Saints in the second half. Peter Paton played well in goals for the saints.

1st Oct, 2006

V Garden Village 4-1 (w)
Saints raced into a 3 nil lead through Jamie Hayward(2) and Kurtis Rees. In the second half Saints had other chances but it was Village who pulled 1 back with a good strike. Sol Thomas completed the scoring for Saints.

V West End 3-0 (w)
Saints played some nice passing football and it was Jamie Hayward who scored first with a powerful low shot. Scott Coughlan had the ball on the right wing and his cross was tucked away by Kurtis Rees. Morgan Lucas then picked the ball up on the halfway line, beat three defenders and struck home a sweet shot into the bottom corner. All credit to West End who never gave up in the second half and managed to pull one back.

V Treboeth 2-2
This was a fantastic tussle between two good teams. Saints took the lead through a brilliant lob by Scott Coughlan. Treboeth came back strongly and went 2-1 up. Saints piled forward but were lucky to stay in the match withTreboeth catching them on the break several times. The equaliser eventually came with Hayward scoring. Treboeth's keeper played with several fine saves.

15th Oct, 2006

Saint Josephs Whites 2 v Ragged School 2
Ragged started well and scored straight from the kick off. They continued to create chances but it was Saints who equalised through Kai Phillips. The second half started with Saints taking the lead through Jamie Sturgess but Ragged came back scoring with the last kick off the game.

Saints Whites v Gowerton
Saints started well and created several chances. They took the lead through Jamie Hayward. Hayward then scored his second with a brilliant shot from distance. Kkurtis Rees then scored two and Jamie Sturgess completing the scoring.

Saints Whites v Saints Greens

Kurtis Rees scored a good a good goal early in the first half, but for the remainder it was all Greens but they could't find the equaliser. The second half began with Hay ward then extending the Whites lead. Wwith the wind against the Greens it was hard for them to get out of their half and the Whites scored a third through Jamie Sturgess. James Osbourne was excellent for the Greens.

Saints Whites V Treboeth Claret
Saints started slowly but were never troubled by Treboeth. Saints gradually came into the game and missed a couple of chances through Jamie Hayward. The second half started with Treboeth putting pressure on the Saints but brilliant defending from Jamie Sturgess and a good save from Connor Nedin made sure they didn't score. Saints eventually scored when Scott Coughlan broke from his own defence and played a through ball for Hayward to run onto and calmly put away for a good goal. Saints played out the rest of the match to win 1-0.

Saints Whites v Garden Village
The game started at a cracking pace with both teams playing superb passing football. Village had to be at their best defensively as Saints started to dominate with Morgan Lucas causing all sorts of problems down the right wing. Saints should have taken the lead when Lucas beat the village defender and crossed for Kurtis Rees to tuck home, but unfortunately he took his eye off the ball at the last and failed to take the chance. The second started as the first finished with saints pushing for a goal and only two brilliant saves from the Village keeper kept his team in the game.in the end it was fair result between two excellent teams.

Saints Whites v Cwm Press
This was a one sided match with Saints dominating from start to finish. During one of the Saints attacks press broke away to score a shock goal. Saints piled forward and hit the woodwork a staggering 5 times, the keeper getting his hands to everything and shots just missing the target. An equaliser came with Morgan Lucas slotting home. The game ended in controversial circumstances when the Press manager claimed the game had gone on longer than it should have and then took his team of the field. In the end a fair result at 1-1.

Saints Whites v Murton Rovers
Saints attacked from the first whistle and missed a few good chances. It was Murton who took the lead with a good counter attack. Saints passed the ball brilliantly to set up Scott Coughlan for the equaliser. In the second half, the Saints missed more chances with Kurtis Rees hitting the post. jamie Hayward played well in the Saints defence.

Saints Whites v Landore A
Landore took control of the game from the start and scored with a good goal. In the second half, Saints tried to get the equaliser but could not break down an excellent landore defence. Landore went on to score two more goals to win comfortably.

Saints Whites v Bonymaen
The Saints started well and created several good chances with the Bonymaen keeper saving well from Jamie Sturgess. Sturgess eventually scored with a fine strike. Bonymaen, in the second half applied pressure but Coughlan in the Saints goal made a fine save to deny them an equliser.

Saints Whites v Mumbles Albion.
Both teams started brightly with the saints having the better chances. They took the lead through Tom Holloway when he neatly tucked home. The Saints had further chances in the second half but hit the post and the cross bar. James Thomas was excellent for the saints.

Saints Whites v Mumbles Rangers
The Saints started the stronger and eventually scored when Jamie Sturgess fired home from distance. In the second half Mumbles came back into the game and only some good saves from Coughlan in goal kept them out. Saints then scored their second when Sol Thomas broke from midfield and his shot was saved only for Kurtis Rees to score from the rebound.

Saints Whites v Dunvant 3x's
Dunvant took an early lead and could have scored a second but their striker shot wide. Saints then took control and in the second half Scott Coughlan equalised with a well taken goal. Coughlan and Jamie Hayward were causing all sorts of problems and this allowed Kurtis Rees to score an excellent hatrick to seal a good 4-1 win.

Saints Whites V Saints Greens
Both teams played well and it was the Whites who took the lead with a superb strike from Jamie Sturgess. The Greens battled hard and equalised through Josh Finselbach after Nedin had saved his first shot Wwhites could have won it but for some brilliant saves from Leighton Brown in the greens goal.

Saints Whites V Mumbles Albion
Saints started well but Mumbles were dangerous on the counter attack. The first half ended goaless thanks to some good saves from the Mumbles keeper. The second half began with saints pushing forward and from one of the attacks Scott Coughlan neatly turned and fired into the bottom corner to give them a good 1-0 win.

Saints Whites V Mumbles Albion
Saints started the much stronger of the two teams and took the lead when Scott Coughlan found Kurtis Rees to tap home. Saints continued to pepper the mumbles defence but couldn't add their lead and this allowed Mumbles to break twice and score each time to win 2-1.

St Josephs Whites v St Josephs Greens.
Both teams started brightly in heavy conditions. Whites took the lead through Alex Giardelli after I. Brown had made an excellent save. Kurtis Rees and Oliver Morgan then increased the lead. The Greens had a couple of good chances but Coughlan in the Whites goal made some good saves.

St Josephs Whites v Treboeth Blue
Saints started well and found themselves three up through well taken goals from Scott Coughlan (2) and Tom Holloway. Blues pulled one back with a good strike but the Saints increased their lead through another Coughlan goal for his hat-trick, a Kurtis Rees double and a Morgan Lucas strike which completed an excellent performance.

St Josephs Whites v Murton Rovers

Saints put early pressure on the Murton defence but couldn't break down a resolute defence. Murton did break away on a couple of occassions but Ross Mainwaring was in outstanding form in the Saints defence. After missing several chances the Saints eventually scored when Morgan Lucas brilliantly crossed for Kurtis Rees to tap home at the far post and snatch a late win.

St Josephs Whites v Landore Whites
This was an excellent game although there few chances created by either team. The conditions were excellent and both teams played some lovely football but unfortunately neither team could break the deadlock.

St Josephs Whites v Gowerton
Gowerton started the more physical but saints gradually came into the game with their passing game. Saints took the lead in the second half when a short corner was taken and Giardelli hit the crossbar with an excellent strike but Kurtis Rees was on hand to volley home the rebound. Saints were now playing brilliant football and missed a few chances when Sol Thomas neatly tapped home from a corner to seal the win. This was a quality performance from the Saints with all of their players in outstanding form.
